LUMIGNANO

Lumignano is one of climbing's most important centers of Northern Italy.
A cliff appreciated for the beauty of climbing and rock quality, but also the difficulties and the historical value of many routes. Indeed, the very years in which the modern climbing starts and develops, the streaks of "classical Lumignano" have seen their full glory and have attracted many of the strongest climbers.

The history of these walls began in 1924 when, it seems to work Severino Casara, he got the dihedral-slot "Sbrega". Then in the '70s, came even later Renato Casarotto and Heinz Mariacher. The great job of nailing is still very active due to the work of Michael Guerrini, not to mention some outstanding contributions such as those, among others, by Martin Scheel and Manolo.
Access Lumignano is located a few kilometers south of Vicenza. From Vicenza, take the SS 247 for Este along all Berici. We reach the village of Longare after which you turn right and Costozza Lumignano. After the first of the two countries and after a few corners, you reach the cliffs that overlook the town. To climb the walls is more classic than the church and continue on the road to its end. You park near a large rock.
Type of climbing The climb is technical and demanding, and generally the streets are explosive and severe grades. The area is steep climbing athletics on holes often painful, whereas on the vertical climbing is very technical and requires better use of the feet.
